Interfaith Interaction. Promote and facilitate greater interaction among Central Florida’s many faith traditions at the level of spiritual leaders and faith communities.
Religious Liberty. Work to eliminate discrimination from government, employers and individuals by advocating for freedom of conscious.
Networking Out. Facilitate the out-flow of information concerning the resources and activities that member faith groups offer that might be of interest to the general public and/or other faith groups.
Networking In. Facilitate the in-flow of information to Central Florida’s faith groups concerning governmental, civic and private-agency services and resources that might be of interest to faith groups.
Interfaith Events. Coordinate interfaith projects and events designed to heighten faith-group interaction, create greater interfaith understanding, encourage interfaith friendship and benefit the Central Florida community in general.
Moral and Ethical Impact. Maintain contact with legislators, civic leaders and members of the media to ensure effective input concerning social, moral and ethical issues being debated in the public forum, and seek to be a regular source of comment and education concerning such issues.
Consensus Statements. Release to the media and post on the Interfaith Council’s website statements of our common understandings as a means of influencing the social, moral and ethical discussions taking place in the public forum.
Effective Communication. Develop, maintain and continually improve mechanisms for communication with the Interfaith Council, with Central Florida’s faith communities and the general public.
Volunteer Coordination. Recruit and oversee volunteers to help plan and execute the activities of the Interfaith Council.
Long-Term Viability. Establish and maintain procedures, programs and relationships to support the long-term viability and effectiveness of the Interfaith Council.
Provision for Change. Conduct regular reviews of our effectiveness, ensuring that mechanisms are in place to readily facilitate the adjustments necessitated by a constantly changing social-spiritual landscape.
